Address of Invitation

　I sincerely welcome you from all over the world to the Conference for Laboratory Animal Science and Technology 2008, which will be held on May 15-17, 2008 in Sendai, Japan. This is a joint meeting of 55th Annual meeting of Japanese Association for Laboratory Animal Science and 42nd Annual meeting of Japanese Association for Experimental Animal and Technology.

　The new law and regulations have been taken effect in Japan since last year and the institutions and universities have established their own regulations lately. In this situation, we will provide several symposia about the animal welfare and ethics of animal experimentation. We are also preparing many academic and technological programs. I hope you to learn and discuss about the latest subjects with all the people in the field of laboratory animal science and technology.

　Here Sendai is a beautiful city with delicious fruits of the sea and the countryside. We are convinced that all of participants enjoy in our country, Michinoku Sendai or the Northeast of Japan.
